CoreWeave’s recent growth has been nothing short of mind-blowing. We’ve raised more than $12 billion from top-tier equity and debt investors, and expanded 3x in the last 12 months. We’ve scaled globally, too, with our new European headquarters in London – alongside a commitment to invest $3.5 billion across Europe – creating over 120 new jobs across engineering, operations, finance, and go-to-market. In 2023, we more than quadrupled our data center presence, and anticipate doubling that globally by the end of this year. Together, we are pushing the frontier of AI adoption forward and defining our own category as the AI hyperscaler.
To power our mission, we’ve assembled a world-class team of the most exceptional talent on the planet. Earlier this year, our new Chief Financial Officer, Nitin Agrawal, joined us from Google where he served as Vice President of Finance for Google Cloud. In June, Chetan Kapoor came on board as CoreWeave’s new Chief Product Officer from Amazon Web Services, where he was part of the Compute leadership team and managed the Hardware Accelerated Compute business. This month, Jeff Baker came on board as CoreWeave’s new Chief Accounting Officer from Rivian where he played an instrumental role in its IPO. Today, we are thrilled to welcome two additional high caliber hires: Sachin Jain as our new Chief Operating Officer and Chen Goldberg as our new SVP of Engineering.
Given our rapid growth trajectory, I sometimes reflect and ask myself, “How do we know if it’s all working?” We’ve seen evidence through incredibly successful capital raises, marquee clients signing multi-year deals with us, and through an exponential expansion of our footprint. But the culmination of it all - how we REALLY know it’s working - is when we succeed in attracting generation-defining talent. It’s when we welcome tech leaders like Chen, who forged groundbreaking projects like Kubernetes and shaped the cloud native landscape throughout her career; and Sachin, who has led multiple businesses at Amazon and Google through very significant growth and success.
Chen joins CoreWeave from Google where she was most recently serving as general manager and Vice President of engineering, Kubernetes and Serverless. A proven builder of cohesive teams, Chen is a culture carrier and a leader who is dedicated to empowering people around her to succeed. In her new role at CoreWeave, Chen will focus on helping our engineers build and scale our products, setting our future direction of travel. Chen will work hand in hand with our CTO Peter Salanki who continues to push boundaries on the cutting-edge tech that fuels our business.
Prior to joining us, Sachin was the Senior Vice President of AI Infrastructure and IaaS (infrastructure as a service) products at Oracle Cloud, with previous executive roles at Google and Amazon. At Google Cloud, he led the capacity planning and optimization and supply chain engineering teams and helped drive the infrastructure efficiency efforts. Sachin is an industry veteran, operating at the intersection of engineering, operations and product and has successfully led very large businesses across the Cloud and Consumer technologies. He has a proven track record of driving innovation, high performing teams and operational excellence. As COO, Sachin will work closely with our Chief Strategy Officer Brian Venturo to ensure that as we maintain our exponential growth, we can continue to deliver the high level of customer service, rapid deployment speed, and industry leading reliability that our customers have come to expect.
With Chen and Sachin joining our executive team, we are ready to bring CoreWeave to its next level of exponential growth. It speaks volumes that these leaders who have worked at some of the largest legacy cloud providers in the business, have now chosen to join CoreWeave as we build the next-generation of cloud infrastructure built for AI workloads.
I am deeply grateful for the bench of builders, innovators, and visionaries who have been such a critical part of our journey. I am humbled to work with some of the best talent on the planet. With key additions like Nitin, Chetan, Jeff, Sachin, and Chen, we are building the AI Hyperscaler together, and I look forward to accomplishing much more alongside you all.
