CoreWeave's European Expansion: Let’s Power Tomorrow's AI Innovations

The last month at CoreWeave can be summarized in one word: expansion. Earlier this week we announced that we will be opening three more data centers located in Norway, Sweden, and Spain, an additional $2.2 billion investment in Europe’s compute footprint. That followed an announcement in early May that we are opening an office and two data centers in London, the city that will now serve as our headquarters for presence in Europe.

This news comes at the perfect time, as the world gears up for London Tech Week this week (June 10-12). We are so excited to be attending the UK’s premier tech event in light of so many amazing developments in London’s tech scene. As British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated, CoreWeave’s UK expansion announcement “further cement[s] the UK’s position as an AI and tech superpower.”

This year’s London Tech Week is perhaps the most important and timely edition in the event’s history, and we are proud to be among global leaders in AI who will be attending this year. To meet with CoreWeave employees and discuss opportunities for building your AI cluster locally in Europe. Visit our London Tech Week page to see CoreWeave sessions at the event and to get in touch with our team.

As mentioned, this week we unveiled our plan to invest $2.2 billion to open up data centers in Norway, Sweden, and Spain by the end of 2025. The three new data centers will be powered by 100% renewable energy, and will create job opportunities across the region. CoreWeave is hiring across several key roles, including in engineering, operations, finance and go-to-market positions. Visit our Eurpean careers page for an updated list of job openings (Careers - Europe).  This latest investment follows last month’s announcement that we will be committing $1.3 billion to open multiple data centers in the UK, as well as opening the first European CoreWeave office in London. Some of the biggest companies in the world have established their European headquarters in London, and we are proud to be one of the first American cloud companies to do so.

In the words of CoreWeave CEO and Co-founder Mike Intrator, “we are seeing unprecedented demand for AI infrastructure and London is an important AI hub that we are investing in. Expanding our physical footprint in the UK is an important milestone in the next phase of CoreWeave's growth.” This is a pivotal step for our company’s growth, and it perfectly coincides with an inflection point of hyperscaling that has seen Europe become a hotbed for technology and innovation. As mentioned in our latest press release, “the Company's European footprint has been carefully designed to meet the regulatory and operational demands of the region, ensuring low-latency performance across all AI workloads and providing a data-sovereign cloud for both European and UK customers. When combined with CoreWeave's differentiated tech stack, this offering makes CoreWeave the partner of choice for European AI developers, labs and enterprises that are looking to create the most sophisticated AI applications.”

This expansion allows us to provide compute to European companies that are looking to scale but haven’t found adequate data center capacity or infrastructure fit for their needs. These five state-of-the-art data centers will provide a much-needed opportunity for local companies to deploy low-latency workloads on an infrastructure that is purpose-built for AI. With the latest and greatest hardware SKU’s and a specialized Kubernetes architecture, CoreWeave is the go-to cloud provider for Europe.

The recent financial commitments to European facilities will allow CoreWeave to satisfy the region's massive appetite for AI infrastructure, and we are proud to serve this growing ecosystem as The AI Hyperscaler™. We are excited to work with innovators of tomorrow, helping our partners build the most sophisticated AI applications the world has ever seen.
