AI demand varies widely. Most teams run a mix of steady baseline work, recurring peaks, and work that can flex. CoreWeave Capacity Plans let you match cost and certainty to how workloads actually run, without forcing everything into one commitment or relying on best-effort when it matters.

What capacity plans does CoreWeave offer?

CoreWeave offers four capacity plans:

  • Reservations
  • Flex Reservations (Preview)
  • On-Demand
  • Spot

What is Reservations best for?

Reservations are best for steady baseline demand that needs guaranteed, predictable capacity.

What is Flex Reservations best for?

Flex Reservations (Preview) are best for workloads that rise and fall but still need guarantees. Flex keeps capacity guaranteed up to a chosen level without requiring you to pre-schedule exact windows.

What is On-Demand best for?

On-Demand is best for best-effort top-up when capacity is available, such as overflow and short-term needs.

What is Spot best for?

Spot is best for lower-cost work that can tolerate interruption and recover cleanly, such as batch jobs, backfills, experiments, and other movable work.

What’s the difference between Flex Reservations and Reservations?

Both provide guaranteed capacity. Reservations are the best fit for always-on baseline demand. Flex Reservations are designed for uneven utilization, keeping capacity guaranteed up to a chosen level with pricing that better matches workloads that don’t run hot 24×7. Flex includes a lower 24×7 holding posture to maintain the guarantee, and usage charges when instances are running.

What’s the difference between On-Demand and Spot?

Both are “when available” options. The difference is interruption:

  • On-Demand is best-effort to obtain, and isn’t meant to be interrupted once it’s running.
  • ‍Spot is lower-cost and can be interrupted, with a warning so teams can drain and recover cleanly.

Do I have to choose only one plan?

No. Most teams use a mix. A simple starting point is: reserve the baseline, use Flex for guaranteed peaks, and use Spot or On-Demand for work that can flex.

How do I choose the right plan mix?

Start with your workload pattern. Use the workload graph and plan comparison table on this page to see how baseline usage, peaks, and interruption tolerance map to the right mix. If you want help validating fit, talk to a CoreWeave expert.
